Monthly Manzanillo Real Estate Review

Welcome to Manzanillo real estate information and opinions.

I would like to start this blog by introducing myself. My name is Jeremy Lusch. I was born on Sept 27, 1976 in Eugene Oregon. After spending time in the Navy and overseas I arrived in Mexico over ten years ago. I spent my first ten years in Ajijic, Jalisco where I met my soul mate Patricia Martinez. Our son Ricardo is now 12 years old and a blessing in our lives. We built our hotel together in Ajijic, and now have expanded our operation to Manzanillo. We are breaking into the real estate world here & want to keep all of you informed with correct information and answer questions that you have about real estate or the local economy. I will update our readers with the latest information and the hottest listings every month.
First entry May10, 2008

Lets get right it, Strides are being made with the AMPI associates (our real estate board) A MLS web site was just recently put online 1 month ago. Congratulations & thank you to those involved. If you have a realtor make sure he is a member of AMPI. It is a nation wide board of realtors that makes sure you are protected in your purchase!!!!

Condo prices are different everywhere you look. Some Hot deals are out there but if you wait the're gone! Prices are ranging from $60,000 - $350,000. Lower range condos are either small or fixer uppers. If you want to buy a condo under 200,000 expect to put some money into it. This can be a great way to go if you have the patience. I recommend that anybody doing projects like this, are either here monitoring the work being done, or have a real estate agent or contractor with the time to over see construction. If anybody would like a list of local contractors, I would be more than happy to send it to you.

So, if you are not looking for a fixer upper you will be paying over $200,000. However, with the new financing available, and still extremely good buys for ocean front property, Manzanillo is still one of the most attractive places to buy here South of the border.

The best place to start looking is in pre sale condos. You don’t have to worry about previous infrastructure problems with a building. You will have a better resale value, and with some, put your own finishing touches however you wish. Torre del Mar & the Perla from Remax, are two projects in pre sale right now.

My best buy for this month is going to be Torre del Mar. Click here for more information regarding this condo project. I will be checking with realtors as they receive new listings, and will provide you with my opinion on the best property available for the price every month.

As some of you may already know Super center Wal Mart, new movie theaters, fast food chains are moving in at a rapid rate. The economy here in Manzanillo looks good.

The smoke stacks are a big issue. Whatever you here don’t take it as truth. This project, involving environmental upgrades and retooling is in the works but no completion date has been set. I will be researching this issue with the local government to try and get a more clear answer for all of my readers. Stay tuned next month for update.
